Welcome to the Chippenham Shed
Who are we?
The Chippenham Shed is a registered Charity (Charity Number 1180371).
We are a community space for adults (18+) to connect, converse and create. Traditionally, Sheds are perceived to be the domain of men but Chippenham Shed welcomes women.
It provides an opportunity to have friendly chats, some laughter, share experiences and make new
friends all over a cup of tea or coffee.
The Shed Trustees are:

Where are we?
ln April 2023 we signed a lease with the North Wiltshire Bowls Club for the old Westcroft Community Centre.
Since then work has been undertaken to renovate and modify the building to accommodate typical shed equipment and to provide a social setting for shed members. In the summer of 2024, a group of dedicated members worked hard to create an extension.
In addition to making good the fabric of the building, members have :-
- painted the exterior,
- created a larger emergency exit,
- added new porches,
- created new structures to the rear to house the dust extraction system and a wood store,
- the structure has been re-wired.
- new windows and dust extraction piping have been installed,
- the walls and floor painted.
In addition, the kitchen area has been improved and bench style seating positioned.
The water supply has been extended to provide an exterior tap and a new toilet installed.
Equipment Acquisitions
Funding applications have enabled us to secure major pieces of equipment including.
- A planer thicknesser.
- A table saw
- A Bandsaw
- A Sander
- Dust extraction equipment
When do we meet
We meet socially on Tuesdays 14:30-16:30
