About Us
We’re not just about making and mending.
- Members attend a weekly social meeting with conversation, tea, and biscuits.
- The group organizes at least one event each month, including outings, meals, barbecues, and bowling activities.
- Regular breakfasts are held at the Bowls Club.
- Members share an allotment for growing fruit and vegetables.
- Musically talented members organise jam sessions and offer free lessons.
Our History
- Chippenham Shed (CS) was established in 2014 and became a registered Charity (CIO) in 2018.
- Its meetings initially took place at the Weighbridge at Chippenham Railway Station, later moving to a small building at the Chippenham Sea Cadets.
- From 2018, weekly meetings were held at Chippenham Rugby Football Club (CRFC), before relocating in 2024 to North Wilts Bowls Club in Westcroft, Chippenham.
- CS belongs to the UK Men’s Shed Association, which offers support and advice on governance, health and safety, and legal matters; 582 men’s sheds currently operate across the UK.
