shed improvements
Over the past 3 years, the Shed has experienced membership growth, which created challenges related to the availability of workshop space.
Extension 1
Funded by Member donations and a Wiltshire Council Area Board for insulation.
Extension 2
Funded by Chippenham Town Council Grant
extension 3
Funded by Chippenham & Swindon Community Foundation Grant
Extension 1
This was a 'wrap around extension to 2 sides of the Shed.
Part of the extension was used to store our wood and some equipment like the planer/thicknesser was moved in from the main workshop.
Increased size of the Shed eased the demand on space.
Extension 2
Funded by the Chippenham Town Council. The woodstore was constructed from a storm damaged garden shed donated by the niece of a shed member.
The woodstore facilitated the removal of wood stored in Extension 1.
The recovered space in Extension 1 allowed the creation of an area dedicated to wood turning.
extension 3
Was funded by the Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation
This mirrors the woodstore and is available for use as a craft room and storage of finished items
and finally
A generous grant from Green Square Accord enabled us to restructure the kitchen area of the Shed
Internal walls were removed to take to incorporate the area occupied by the toilet into the main kitchen area.
A new toilet was constructed as a blister to the Shed. New seating has been created in the expanded kitchen space and new doors fitted.
